The UCC provides confidential individual and group counseling to any student who has been sexually assaulted or subjected to sexual misconduct, dating violence, domestic violence, stalking, and/or conduct that creates a hostile environment.

Students in crisis and in need of support should stop by the third floor of Saint Liam Hall or call the UCC at 574-631-7336 and ask to speak to a counselor. Please indicate that this is a crisis.

After office hours, when the UCC is closed, students should call the UCC at 574-631-7336 and follow the voicemail instructions to reach the on-call counselor. This after-hours counseling service is staffed by licensed counselors who can provide immediate assistance by phone. These counselors can also help facilitate a transition to UCC services as needed.

All UCC staff, including front office staff and clinicians in training, are confidential resources, and any information shared in the context of counseling is protected under a student’s right to confidentiality.

Unless there is an imminent threat to the student or the community, the UCC will not share the information a student discloses with anyone, including the Office of Institutional Equity (OIE), which handles all inquiries regarding alleged violations of the University's Discriminatory Harassment, Sexual Harassment, and Other Sex-Based Misconduct Policy. The UCC staff can however provide students with information about how to report an incident of sexual assault to OIE or law enforcement.
