Concerned Others
Faculty, staff, parents, guardians, family members, and/or a student’s friends are often the first to notice changes in a student’s behavior that raise concerns about mental health and well-being.
In life-threatening emergencies involving a student, please call 911 immediately. The Notre Dame Police Department can also be reached at 574-631-5555. In crisis situations, concerned others can contact the University Counseling Center (UCC) 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 574-631-7336 to speak with an on-call counselor.
For non-life-threatening and crisis situations, a variety of resources and consultation services are available to assist those who are seeking guidance about how to handle a mental health concern involving a Notre Dame student.

Notre Dame faculty and staff may refer a student or share a student concern with the Center for Student Support and Care.
